Use these simple techniques to start listening to your heart

Spring is all about resurgence. To shed the old and make way for the new.

Open up the window to your soul, and clear out what’s not working, and breathe in the fresh thoughts, wants, and desires, and step into what is working!

Hey, we’ve all been there, when you feel like some areas of your life no longer contribute to you. Whether it’s people, thoughts, or conditions, you just have this heaviness within you. It’s hard to breathe.

But when something is truly joyous and yummy, you breathe freely. Your eyes and your heart are open to the world.

The key is tuning in and listening to your heart! AKA: Your inner guidance system!

Most of us weren’t taught how to do this because the people who raised us, likely didn’t learn this themselves. As a result, you haven’t learned to trust your heart – or yourself. Instead, you blindly search for the answers, approval, or guidance from those around you, based on their reality, for direction.

There’s no better time to tap into your inner guidance system than now. This delicious season of renewal and growth. Asking questions and hearing the answers.

My question to you is what dreams and desires are calling to you this spring that you haven’t checked into? What hopes have you put aside? What changes do you need to make to make your life authentic, aligned, and congruent with your values?

The way you find these answers is by taking the time to listen! To pay attention to those tugs of awareness and to what your inner voice is telling you. What is your heart saying?

In order to create a life that you love – and one that you would love to live and share with everyone else, you need to tap into your deepest desires and connect to your heart.

Your heart communicates to you through your intuition and emotions. So, listen closely!

Here are techniques that I use and share in The Congruent Method that will help you strengthen your connection to your inner guidance system – your heart!

I’ve also included a surprise! A juicy BONUS activity that’s one of my personal faves!

Tip: The secret to these exercises is that you need to practice them! 

Just like you practiced tying your shoes or walking to school, you created a pathway in your mind until it was second nature. You no longer questioned how you did those things – you just did them due to constant-spaced repetition.

Create a new path using any or all of these methods. Make a commitment to play with these for a week, two, or even three and get in touch with who you truly be!

  1.   Mindful breathing. Sit quietly, focus on your breath. Inhale deeply and exhale slowly to help you feel more present, reduce stress and anxiety.
  2.   Gratitude journaling. Write down three things you’re grateful for each day to shift your focus to the positives and increase feelings of happiness and contentment.
  3.   Visualization. Close your eyes and imagine yourself accomplishing that dream or desire. Visualize every detail and sensation of achieving that goal to help you stay focused and motivated.
  4.   Positive affirmations. Repeat positive statements to yourself, such as “I am capable” or “I am worthy of success” to help boost your confidence and self-esteem.
  5.   Mindful movement. Practice yoga or take a walk outside. Focus on your body, breathe, and feel more grounded and connected to your body.
