4 Easy Steps to Nurture Your Spirit

Sep 29, 2022

Are you nurturing your spirit?

When most of us hear the word spirit or spirituality, we automatically assume it has religious connotations.

But spirituality is so much more!

We can be the healthiest person, yet we still feel off, feeling ill, emotionally, mentally, or physically. That’s why we can’t ignore our spiritual wellbeing. It has a deep influence that trickles down and impacts our emotional, mental, and physical self.

Spirituality is a very personal practice.

For some, studying religious or cultural traditions, or attending religious services or ceremonies may play an integral part of their spiritual self care.

For others, spirituality is experienced solely within oneself. It could be through nature, art, music, and other forms of personal expression. It’s anything that is meaningful to you. Whatever ignites a sense of personal sacredness, that fills your need for happiness and connection.

We understand the importance of self care when it comes to our emotional, mental, and physical health. But the practice of spiritual self care is often forgotten or ignored.

Taking time for spiritual self care is soul-filling.

It’s essential that we recognize that, to thrive and live a happy, fulfilling life, we need to take care of all aspects of ourselves. Including our spirituality.

Here’s four simple steps you can take to help you:

1. Practice Mindfulness

Let go of the daily subconscious, habitual thoughts, and feelings you’re familiar with and focus on each delicious moment – the here and now. Stay in and truly be, with the present moment, experiencing and enjoying each of your actions. Fully embracing and appreciating each and every moment.

2. Get Back to Nature

There’s nothing more raw and natural than… well, nature! Spending time surrounded by the unspoiled peacefulness of nature’s beauty brings you as close to your creator as possible. Appreciate the miraculous energy and absorb the presence of both stillness and the activity of life in its purest form.

3. Reenergize Your Surroundings

What goes in, must come out. When you surround yourself with low-energy, negativity, and angry, depressing people, you absorb that energy.

Like attracts like. So be sure to surround yourself with positive energy. People who are happy, encouraging, and on the same spiritual path as you.

4. Get Quiet

Whether it’s learning how to temper the noise around you in order to contemplate different areas of your life, or practising the inner calm of meditation, reducing the constant chatter will help you tune in to the creative force of the Universe and discover who you truly be.

Be sure to incorporate spiritual self care practices into your life, as it encourages introspection, clearing and quieting the mind. Bringing clarity, calmness and honouring what our heart desires and needs.

It brings peace, comfort, and joy into our lives.
