Embark on Your Transformational Journey: Embracing the Art of Surrender

Nov 23, 2023

Hello, dear souls!

As we embark on this transformative journey into the Art of Change, I’m thrilled to welcome you. Today, let’s explore a question from Arlene, a cherished Congruent Living Facebook community member, that resonates deeply with many of us.

Picture this: You envision the changes you desire, yet find yourself surrounded by countless distractions, hindering your path to action. How do you navigate this intricate dance between aspirations and distractions? Distractions often serve as a means to avoid the discomfort that change might bring. Recognizing this and understanding the internal resistance can pave the way for overcoming these barriers.

In my journey of surrendering to change, I’ve uncovered three undeniable truths:

1. Distraction as a Form of Control, Rooted in Fear:
Distractions can be a way of controlling success, driven by the fear of what might happen if we dare to let go. Acknowledging and understanding this fear is the first step toward positive transformation.

2. Letting Go of Outcome-Driven Control:
Being attached to specific outcomes limits our happiness. Trusting that we’re okay, regardless of circumstances, opens us to many possibilities beyond the fixation on one “right” path.

3. The Power of Surrender:
Surrendering to desired changes goes beyond control; it’s a profound shift from tension to calmness. It allows for an expanded vision, seeing the bigger picture of our journey.

Now, let’s explore the art of surrender.

Surrender: A Cease-Fire with Yourself:
Literal surrender means stopping the fight—with ourselves, the universe, and the natural flow of things. It’s about complete acceptance and faith that all is well, even without constant interference.

If letting go and surrendering feel better and produce better results, How do we do that?

Conscious Choice:
Be aware of when you’re in control mode and choose to let go consciously. Visualize yourself turning a boat around, dropping the oars, and effortlessly floating downstream.

Questioning Fear:
Challenge the validity of the fear preventing you from letting go of control. Question assumptions and redefine what’s truly significant.

Define Your Business:
Identify whose business you’re in. Focus on what you can directly influence—your own business. Trying to control things outside your jurisdiction won’t yield positive outcomes.

Seek Freedom:
Consider whether letting go would feel like freedom. More often than not, it does. Let the feeling of freedom guide you to release your grip.

Einstein once said, “The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.” I choose to believe in a friendly universe.

Cultivating receptivity and allowing things to unfold is a skill that can be honed. Trusting in a supportive universe frees us from unnecessary worries over details.

Remember, surrender is not about giving up the changes you are asking for; it’s about letting go of something greater. Embrace the flow, dear friends.

Thank you for joining me in this exploration of transformation. Until next time, stay open, stay inspired, and let the magic of surrendering to the changes you ask for guide you.

I am sending you all waves of love and positive energy.

“Embrace the flow, dear friends. Surrender is not about giving up the desired changes; it’s about letting go of something greater. In the magic of surrender, we find the courage to release our grip and allow the universe to unfold its extraordinary plan for our transformation.”
