9 Words That Rewired My Self-Worth (And Still Do)

How a simple daily mantra helped me shift my mindset in midlife — and how it can support you too.

Somewhere in the middle of my journey — after raising four kids, going back to school, building a new creative path, and letting go of the old one — I found myself asking a question that so many women ask in midlife:

“Is this it?”

“What’s next for me?”

“Am I even allowed to want more?”

I was at a crossroads. I had done everything “right,” and still, I felt like something was missing — like I had drifted from my own center.

That’s when I started practicing a simple mantra. It wasn’t fancy. It wasn’t complicated. But over time, it became an anchor.

“I am who I am, and that is enough.”

Nine words. Spoken out loud. Every morning and every night.

And slowly, something started to shift.

Why It Matters More in Midlife

In midlife, it’s so easy to believe our best years are behind us.

To compare ourselves to younger versions.

To feel like if we’re not constantly producing or proving, we don’t hold value.

But here’s the truth:

Midlife isn’t a decline — it’s a reset.

It’s the moment you stop living from outside expectations and start remembering who you really are.

And the remembering? It starts with how you speak to yourself.

The Power of “I AM”

“I AM” isn’t just a statement — it’s a declaration.

Whatever follows those words becomes part of how you identify, how you feel, and how you act. So when you say,

“I am who I am, and that is enough,”

you’re affirming your inherent worth — not because of what you do, but because of who you are.

You’re building trust with yourself.

You’re conditioning your subconscious to support you, not fight you.

You’re creating space for peace, confidence, and alignment to grow.

Try This Practice This Week

Here’s the invitation:

Take 30 seconds each morning and 30 seconds each night.

Close your eyes. Put your hand on your heart. And say:

“I am who I am, and that is enough.”

“I am who I am, and that is enough.”

“I am who I am, and that is enough.”

Let it land. Let it soften your edges.

Let it remind you of what you already carry.

You’re Not Broken — You’re Becoming

This is what I remind my clients every day — and what I had to remind myself through my own transformation:

You are not behind.

You are not broken.

You are not too late.

You are becoming.

You are unfolding.

You are exactly where you need to be to begin again.

This mantra has carried me through moments of doubt, comparison, burnout, and big life transitions — and I hope it offers you a small but mighty shift this week too.

With love and belief in all that you are,
