Have you told THIS person “I love you”?

Have you told THIS person “I love you”?

When someone tells you that they love you, how does it make you feel? Warm? Fuzzy?… Valued?

Maybe it’s all those delicious emotions.

So, here’s a question for ya!

When was the last time you declared your love to…YOURSELF?

Not just thinking it or whispering it to yourself. I’m talking about looking in the mirror, smiling and staring into your eyes as you say out loud, “I love you!”

Now before you roll your eyes, thinking that’s just a silly idea, keep on reading!

Self love isn’t something people really think or talk about.

Maybe you grew up in a home where love wasn’t demonstrated. Or it was held back and only shown to you as a “reward” for good behavior.

Self love isn’t taught in schools and let’s face it, most of us aren’t encouraged to love ourselves as we get older.

In fact, chances are, you’ve been taught that you should put the needs of others first. Even before yourself!

Here’s the thing. To be the absolute best version of you, you need to love yourself.

That includes everything about you. Even what you may perceive as faults or imperfections, it’s accepting you for ALL that you are. It’s unconditional love.

You see my friend; there’s a very important reason why self-love is non-negotiable.

Because how you love yourself is how YOU will be loved by others!

Pretty deep hey?

How can you expect others to love you if you don’t love yourself?

You see, self-love is essential to your emotional wellbeing. It’s a reflection of your unconditional acceptance, self respect, and love for yourself.

When you don’t love yourself, it has a detrimental effect on your self-esteem, confidence, and mental health.

And you gotta admit, that absence of self-love, self-respect and self-acceptance of yourself sets the bar pretty darn low for potential partners.

It establishes an unhealthy tone for your entire relationship by showing them how you expect, or rather don’t expect, to be loved.

Love isn’t something that’s going to “happen” to you.

You ARE love. It lives in you. You embody the energy and juicy vibration of love. Tap into that. Embrace it, love it and accept yourself for everything that you are.

Recognizing that self-love, self-confidence and self-belief is the foundation for your relationships and life.

Once you’ve established that foundation, it raises that bar exponentially. Your self-loving energy will attract more of the same.

Others will treat you with the same love and respect that you expect of yourself. And if they don’t, you love and self-respect yourself enough to not accept that treatment by others.

So, as you can see, self love isn’t selfish. It’s a necessity.

And when you love yourself, it propels you into creating greater things in all areas of your life. That’s why self-love is essential for creating a congruent life.

I’d love to hear how self-love has changed your life. Please share in the comments below!
